Campbell Blogg returning on one-year contract

Melbourne United is excited to announce that Campbell Blogg has re-signed with the club for the NBL25 season as a Development Player.

Coming off his first full season on the roster, Blogg showcased flashes of his special talent, even scoring a career-high seven points in seven minutes as part of a comeback victory for United against the Sydney Kings in Round 8 of NBL24.

A product of the Sandringham Sabres junior system, Blogg said there’s nowhere else in the NBL he’d rather be than with Melbourne, honing his craft alongside legends of the sport such as Chris Goulding, Matthew Dellavedova and Shea Ili.

“We’ve got such a great group of guys, I’ve had such a great two years with the club and I’m ready to continue to do whatever is required to help this team have success,” he said.

“I’ve seen guys like Luke Travers, Jack White, Jo Lual-Acuil Jr, Jock Landale come into this club and get better, and that’s the pathway I want to follow,

“The offseason has really been about working on my body and getting better, and I think that’s the same for everyone. We’re so hungry to start next season and go one step better to achieve our goals.” 

While he had dealt with an injury interrupted NBL1 South campaign with Sandringham, the star guard has found his form of late, helping the Sabres string together 13 wins across their past 14 games.

Teammate/coach David Barlow touched on his belief that Blogg can continue developing into one of the most dangerous young players in the NBL.

“The arc of his improvement has been a steep one and it’s been brilliant to follow and participate in,” he said.

“This year he got a chance to become an NBL basketball player and he looked like he belonged on the court.

“As a Development Player, he really took the opportunity and ran with it. He did everything we asked of him, continued to develop physically, becoming a bigger, stronger, faster, more mobile athlete which is going to help him moving forward to reach his full potential.”

Blogg joins Chris Goulding, Matthew Dellavedova, Shea Ili, Jack White, Luke Travers, Kyle Bowen, Flynn Cameron, Tanner Krebs, Rob Loe and Tom Koppens as contracted players for the NBL25 season.
