The Melbourne United star has joined the Cleveland Cavaliers at Summer League for a third straight year

Fresh off the best season of his professional career, Luke Travers couldn’t be feeling any better heading into his third NBA Summer League stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

After making the move over to Melbourne United from the Perth Wildcats, Travers averaged a career-high in points, rebounds and blocks, while helping MU secure the league’s best regular season record.

Now over in Cleveland, who selected him with the 56th pick of the 2022 NBA Draft, Travers spoke about how working closely alongside NBA championship-winning teammates Matthew Dellavedova and Ian Clark has him playing with more confidence than ever.

“It’s been a fun year, I played with Melbourne United this year with Matthew Dellavedova who’s obviously a legend here,” he told journalists.

“It was an amazing year just to learn those types of guys, Ian Clark as well. Another year of a lot of development and just looking to come out here again and show it.

“(Dellavedova) told me (that I’m an NBA player) multiple times throughout the year and I think that does so much for your confidence… any time you hear that from those types of guys it just helps you out, wherever you are.

“I’ve improved in everything I want to say. My confidence is sky high.”

Travers will look to put together another impressive Summer League showing, starting with a matchup with the Orlando Magic on Saturday morning at 6am.
