Matthew Dellavedova coming into NBL24 in red-hot form

Perhaps no player turned more heads at the NBL Blitz than returning United superstar Matthew Dellavedova.

Coming off the bench for two of his three games in the Gold Coast, Delly’s scoring explosion was tremendous to see, as the Olympic Bronze medalist averaged nearly a point a minute while locking down opponents on the other end of the floor.

A veteran of over 500 NBA games, Dellavedova told ESPN that he simply just wants to continue improving to help United bring home the ultimate prize at season’s end.

"I've been working hard and feeling healthy for a couple of years now," he said.

"I think that really helps. Just continuing to find ways to get better. I've been eating a lot of steak, trying to get a lot of sun, a lot of grounding; I think that's all helping. I always enjoyed steak but I've been trying to eat a lot more, and I feel like it's helping."

Looking at what he brings to this United group, teammate Chris Goulding said that there isn’t anyone quite like Delly on the court.

"Delly is such a unique competitor… There's a fire burning in that guy that will never go out."

Fans can see Dellavedova return to the court on Thursday evening when United face the SEM Phoenix in Throwdown XXI.

Tickets are sold out, however fans can tune in via ESPN and Kayo.
