Melbourne United will celebrate our amazing fans with the Member Appreciation Game on Sunday

After picking up a huge road win over the New Zealand Breakers on Thursday night, Melbourne United will look to extend our winning streak to six games on Sunday afternoon against the Brisbane Bullets.

Over the past few years, we’ve had the wood over the Bullets, having strung together 12 consecutive victories dating back to April 2021.

There will be some extra motivation on Sunday for our guys, as the club celebrates our annual Member Appreciation Game.

For the Bullets, picking up a second win of Round 11 after beating Adelaide on Friday night would go a long way in keeping Justin Schueller’s side in touch with the top-six.

WHO’S HOT, WHO’S NOT

(Past five games)
United - W, W, W, W, W

Breakers - L, L, W, L, W

Since Round 6, our group has been almost perfect, winning eight of our nine games by an average margin of 16 points.

A common thread in these victories has been outside shooting and ball movement, with the squad connecting on double digit three-point makes in all eight victories and tallying over 23 assists in six of the wins.

Looking at the visitors, getting the ball inside has been a focal point, with Tyrell Harrison using his size to finish over defenders inside and Casey Prather winding back the clock for some acrobatic buckets.

Over their last five games, Brisbane have scored the second most points in the paint per game.

STARS COLLIDE

In a battle of Kiwi bigs, Rob Loe will look to continue his super run of form against fellow countryman Tyrell Harrison.

Loe is currently in the midst of one of the best scoring runs of his career, avering 18.8 points per game across our five-game winning streak, which has included the highest (30 points v Brisbane) and third highest (25 points v NZ) scoring performances of his NBL tenure.

While Loe has done a lot of damage from beyond the arc (2.6 three pointers per game on 65% shooting during this stretch), Harrison has opted for a more brute force approach, including on Friday night, where he tallied 19 points and 18 rebounds.
