This game will determine who sits on top of the ladder to end Round 7

Melbourne United will look to keep on rolling as we head into the final game of Round 7: a home clash with the New Zealand Breakers on Melbourne Cup Eve.

A top-of-the-table matchup, Monday night’s winner will head into Round 8 with the league’s best record.

Fresh off a hard-fought win over the Kings on Thursday night, we will be looking for a fourth consecutive win.

The Breakers will be coming in off a shorter turnaround, having thrashed the Adelaide 36ers on Saturday at home by 27 points.

WHO’S HOT, WHO’S NOT

(Past five games)
United - W, L, W, W, W

Breakers - L, W, L, W, W

When it comes to strong records against individual teams, our form against the Breakers across the last five years has been close to unmatched.

Starting in February 2018, we have beaten New Zealand 21 of the last 24 times we have matched up. This includes 10 straight victories over the Breakers inside of John Cain Arena.

The visitors however will be looking to reverse that record, starting on Monday. This will be just the third time the Breakers have played on the road in NBL25, having split their previous pair of games away from home.

STARS COLLIDE

Perhaps the presumptive MVP favourite early on in NBL25, Parker Jackson-Cartwright will have his hands full against our collection of stout guard defenders.

The American went 0-3 in games against us last season, but was able to average over 20 points a game to go along with five assists.

Having to deal with the likes of Shea Ili and Matthew Dellavedova hounding him on offence is one thing, but he will also find himself constantly challenged by the pair at the other end as they look to get in the paint and create opportunities for their teammates.
