As he approaches his 11th season with Melbourne, club legend Chris Goulding says he is feeling ‘invigorated’ following 11 games playing in Europe across the offseason.

Following another All-NBL season with United, Goulding went jet-setting off to France in hopes of helping Paris Basketball make a push towards the postseason.

While his 7-4 record with the side ultimately wasn’t enough to make the playoffs, CG43 impressed, averaging 10.6 points while shooting over 40% from deep in 20 minutes of action per night.

Speaking to MU Media after arriving back to United’s home of Hoop City Cheltenham, Goulding said he’s happy he took up the opportunity to play overseas.

“It was a great experience for me and my family,” he said.

“It was just good to go and compete in another league, another environment and test myself.

“While it was unfortunate that our season with United ended earlier than we would have liked, it gave me time to rest and get my body right before going to have a crack over there.

“With such a big break between seasons, it’s good to keep the body moving, keep the mind engaged and it’s also good to challenge yourself with a different team, a different group of people, a different group of staff so that when I come back I feel fresh and invigorated for the upcoming season.”

Goulding will look to put together another spectacular season in NBL24, with one of the best ever local cores surrounding him.

The only way you can make sure you’re there to see Goulding suit up in every home game next season is to become a member today.
