Melbourne United star Shea Ili has helped the New Zealand Tall Blacks qualify for their sixth straight FIBA World Cup, lighting it up in a pair of games against Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

Coming off a year which saw the guard take home the league’s Best Sixth Man award, as well as United Defensive Player of the Year and SHARE awards, Ili looks to be rolling as Melbourne approach their upcoming preseason games against the Brisbane Bullets in Ballarat and Casey.

Across the pair of victories, Ili averaged 15 points, 6.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds in just over 25 minutes per game.

Following his most recent stint with the Tall Blacks, Ili is set to return to training with United on Thursday.

Australia has not yet qualified for the World Cup despite sporting an undefeated record. The Boomers will next play in mid-November against Kazakhstan, and Iran.
