Melbourne United is excited to unveil the two newest members of our team, Swish and Slam.
United fans will see this dynamic duo take over John Cain Arena all season, bringing their own brand of high energy to the court.
Swish the cat, a livewire bundle of electric energy, is set to bring speed and skill to game days, racing around the arena with grace while staying ready to bust a move with any and all of our fans.
Slam the dog, the powerhouse of the pair, commands any room with strength and charisma, flexing to the camera and always handing out fist bumps to fans.
Melbourne United Captain, Chris Goulding, touched on his excitement to welcome in Swish and Slam to the club.
“Whenever you add superstar talent to your team it’s hard not to be excited,” he said.
“I think our fans are going to love having them as part of our family and community. They just bring a heap of energy wherever they are.
“It’s going to be awesome to see them every home game in the crowd helping us get our fans pumped up and excited to watch us on the court.”
These sentiments were echoed by United CEO, Nick Truelson.
“At Melbourne United, our purpose is to use the power of basketball to inspire, entertain and enrich people’s lives,” he explained.
“I think bringing in two new members of the United family in Swish and Slam helps us achieve that, while also Uniting all of the cat and dog loving fans within our community!”
The pair are proudly supported by Mattel, who voiced their anticipation at seeing the duo, whose jerseys will feature the ‘Hot Wheels’ brand across their chest, and ‘UNO’ showcased on their shorts, inside John Cain Arena.
“We’re thrilled to support Swish and Slam as they bring joy and excitement to the Melbourne United family,” said Tim Nolan, Senior Marketing Director.
“Their energy perfectly embodies the spirit of play that we celebrate through our brands.”
The Melbourne United faithful will get to see Swish and Slam hit the court at our first home game on October 6 against the Cairns Taipans.
