Justin Schueller ready to challenge for more gold

Melbourne United assistant coach Justin Schueller has his eyes set on the ultimate prize as he leads Australia towards the upcoming FIBA U17 World Cup.
Schueller helped the Crocodiles to a Gold Medal and a perfect 6-0 record across the FIBA Asia Cup, including a dominant 94-63 win in the Final against Japan on Monday morning.
Winning the tournament means Australia has secured a spot in the upcoming FIBA U17 World Cup in Malaga, Spain, in early July. They will play six group games against Argentina, Egypt and Poland.
After touching down in Spain, Schueller said he is proud of his side for their efforts in the Asia Cup, and is ready for the challenge ahead of him.
“What this group of young men have achieved in such a short time together makes me very proud.
“We spoke about respecting the past, but carving their own legacy and we have definitely taken steps forward to that. It’s a great achievement to defend our Asia cup title but we definitely have sights set on more. Right now we are happy with the result in Asia but are not satisfied as we have bigger sights for the World Cup now”
“We look forward to continuing this journey and chasing Gold at Worlds.”
After second place finishes in 2012 and 2014, Schueller will look to hopefully push Australia towards its first ever U17 World Championship victory.
