Matthew Dellavedova and Jock Landale showcased their skill this morning in the Boomers narrow loss to the USA in an Olympic warm-up matchup.
Starting the game and playing 27 minutes, Landale was among the best players on the court, leading the contest in scoring with 20 points on 9/12 shooting from the field.
The former United Grand Final MVP added seven rebounds, six assists and two steals, helping the Boomers stop the bleeding when the USA were looking most dangerous.
Trailing by 13 points late in the game, the injection of Dellavedova into the contest was pivotal in Australia’s comeback effort.
In his only four minutes of the night, Dellavedova led the Boomers on a 13-6 run by doing all the little things. He tied up Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis for a jump ball, hustled for a pair of rebounds, and dished out two assists.
Ultimately, the Boomers couldn’t complete the comeback, losing 98-92.
They will take the court tomorrow morning at 2am AEST for a matchup with Serbia. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN via Kayo.
