A pair of Melbourne United stars have been rewarded for their efforts across the NBL22 season at the club’s awards evening.

Jo Lual-Acuil Jr was crowned as club MVP following his breakout season, which saw the big-man lead the team in points, rebounds and blocks.

This comes only weeks after JLA finished in the top-three for league MVP voting, and was named as a member of the All-NBL First Team.

The other big winner from the evening was Kiwi guard Shea Ili, who took home both Defensive Player of the Year and the club’s SHARE Awards.

This is the second time Ili has won the SHARE Award, which goes to the player who best exemplifies the club’s values of: Selfless, Hard, Accountable, Relentless, Execute.

These accolades go alongside his NBL Best Sixth Man Award, which he was bestowed a few weeks ago.

The Vince Crivelli Club Person of the Year went to Commercial Operations Assistant Tom Lewis for his efforts behind the scenes at United.

While United’s group heads into the offseason, it’s Time to Unite, with NBL23 memberships on sale now!
