After playing the first few years of his career in Perth, Travers made the move to United last season, developing into one of the league’s most versatile young stars.
Across 33 games with United, Travers averaged 12.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.1 steals. He was the only player in the league to average over one block and one steal per game in NBL24.
An instrumental part of United’s run throughout the Championship Series, Travers equalled a 35-year old record, tallying 14 rejections; a feat that hadn’t been matched since Willie Simmons in 1989.
Melbourne United would like to congratulate Luke on all he achieved with the club, and wish him all the best with all he is set to accomplish throughout what we hope is a long NBA career.
