John Cain Arena has long been a fortress for Melbourne United, who have won more home games than any other team across the last four seasons.

Fresh off another season in which his side had the league’s best home record (11-3), Head Coach Dean Vickerman is eager to see his side back on the court in front of their raucous fanbase.

Part of this anticipation comes down to the level of competition his side will be up against as the league continues to grow in strength each year.

“Every night is going to be a battle,” Vickerman said.

“Each time we step on the court we know we’re going to be in a fight and we’re excited for that.

“I feel like the talent level of this league just keeps going up and up. It creates an environment that’s amazing to compete in. We want to be the best, our goal is to compete for a championship every year and that’s no different this season.”
