With NBL23 free agency set to open on Friday morning at 9am, the NBL has revealed all the contracted and uncontracted players heading into the offseason.

Melbourne United currently have nine of its players from last season returning, highlighted by All-NBL pairing Chris Goulding and Matthew Dellavedova, as well as Sixth Man of the Year winner Shea Ili.

Other returning players include Jack White, Ariel Hukporti, Brad Newley, Mason Peatling, David Okwera and Zac Triplett.

This means seven of United’s rostered players from NBL22 are currently unsigned heading into free agency: Jo Lual-Acuil Jr, Caleb Agada, David Barlow, Callum Dalton, Dion Prewster, William ‘Davo’ Hickey and Yudai Baba.

Speaking with MU Media, JLA confirmed he will be pursuing his NBA dreams this off-season but did not rule out a return to Melbourne if the opportunity arose.

“The goal for the off-season is to secure an NBA contract, but if I am playing in the NBL it will be for Melbourne United, for sure,” Lual-Acuil Jr said.
