The star guard led the league in total assists this season

Having showcased his grit and determination across the course of the entire season, Matthew Dellavedova’s NBL25 was perhaps his best in a United uniform.

Coming off an Olympic campaign, ‘Delly’ further established himself as the league’s most elite passer, orchestrating our offence as an elite level.

Looking back on the season, Dellavedova said it’s difficult to describe the emotions, having come so close playing alongside a group of teammates he was immensely proud of.

“Obviously it's really tough to fall short, but we had an amazing group of guys and we had a lot of fun,” he said.

“That's what makes sport enjoyable… It was just a lot of fun playing with a group of guys that know that they're gonna celebrate your successes and you're gonna celebrate theirs.

“I wanna give a shout out to the gold squad, our training players. They put in a ton of work this year, and helped everyone get better.”

The Maryborough product was always a fan favourite inside of John Cain Arena, regularly bringing the crowd to their feet with his stout defensive effort or strong inside scoring.

Dellavedova thanked the United faithful for bringing the energy to every game.
“It (the crowd) was amazing all season. The louder the crowd gets as we're starting to build either some defensive momentum or CG's hitting a couple of threes, you can just feel the momentum and the crowd rising.

“It was a lot of fun and we appreciate everyone's support this season, you guys helped us all.”
