Take a look at what stood out statistically from Round 4 right here

Welcome to STAT WRAP, Melbourne United’s weekly round-up of all the key stats from our games. Take a look below at who shined on the court, and the trends leading the way throughout the team.

THE MILESTONE MAN

Melbourne United celebrated Chris Goulding on Sunday, as our captain took to the court for his 450th NBL game.

The sharpshooter played 21 minutes and scored 13 points, helping the home side break the game open in the third quarter.

In scoring 13 points, Goulding also brought up another major milestone, moving past Sam Mackinnon into 25th all-time for scoring in NBL history.

EAGLE-EYED IAN

Across the first six games of our NBL25 campaign, Ian Clark has put together one of the league’s most efficient scoring runs.

The NBA Championship winning American is averaging a career-high 14.5 points per game, which has come on the back of 50/40/100 shooting.

His Round 4 performance only helped further this dominant run, as he top-scored in the contest (18 points) while knocking down 70% of his shots, while also registering a game-high +23 in his minutes.

NO EASY BUCKETS FOR ADELAIDE

Sunday evening’s thrashing of the Adelaide 36ers continued the dominant defensive trend that the team has put together to start the season.

United now own four of the 11 games league-wide where teams have kept opponents under 85 points, and the eight points Dean Vickerman’s side restricted the Sixers to in the third quarter was the lowest allowed by any team this season.

After four rounds, we have registered a defensive rating of 99.8 points, which if it continued, would be the best defensive rating since the 2012-13 season.

United’s stars will look to continue this strong play as we head into our next matchup; a Throwdown clash with the South East Melbourne Phoenix at John Cain Arena on Sunday 20 October from 2:30pm.

Fans can tune in live at home on 10 BOLD, or ESPN via Kayo.

The contest will see us celebrate the diversity of Melbourne through The Multicultural Game.

With so much excitement ahead of NBL25, the time is now to lock in your seats to see United’s return to John Cain Arena.

The only way to make sure you don’t miss a second of United basketball during NBL25 is by securing a ticket today.
