United bring the blue with retro uniforms

We’ve asked our fans to bring the blue all season, so now it’s our time to bring it with the unveiling of our new retro uniforms for NBL23.

Featuring white pinstripes and a classic script typeface of our namesake, the uniforms draw inspiration from our young history, while paying homage to some of the great Victorian basketball teams that came before us.

Melbourne United’s Chief Marketing Officer Tom van de Vusse spoke about the inspiration for the design.

“We were asked by the NBL last August to design a ‘retro’ uniform, so we made the decision to really lean into our Bring the Blue campaign and use our cobalt blue as the main colour in this uniform,” van de Vusse said.

“While we were able to feature some design elements from uniforms of some past Victorian teams, we also wanted this design to help take us forward.”

“As our club continues to grow and evolve, we have been so impressed by our fans who have been bringing the blue each and every home game. We hope this uniform gives them yet another great jersey to wear proudly in their support of their club.”

With these new uniforms, United’s stars will sport the same colour on the court as our fans fly in the stands with their Roll’d Rally Towels.

With their debut set for our final regular season home game, a Round 18 clash with the Adelaide 36ers, we hope to see the entirety of John Cain Arena bringing the blue to help propel United to victory!
