United star Lual-Acuil Jr joins Suns for Summer League

Melbourne United superstar Jo Lual-Acuil Jr is set to join the Phoenix Suns for NBA Vegas Summer League.

The announcement came on Monday afternoon, with the NBL MVP finalist being named to Phoenix’s 18-man roster.

He will have some familiar faces on his side, with Illawarra’s Duop Reath and Sydney’s Dejan Vasiljevic also being named to the side.

Coming off a monster season, which saw JLA climb into the MU history books (first in blocks, third in rebounds, fourth in points), the seven-footer will be hoping to turn some spectacular play in Las Vegas into an NBA contract.

Lual-Acuil Jr will join NBL22 teammates Jack White (Denver) and Yudai Baba (Golden State), who will also feature at Vegas Summer League.

White departed for America today following his 3-0 stint with the Australian Boomers, while Baba has taken the court one already with the Warriors, scoring four points and grabbing two rebounds in 11 minutes.
