At Melbourne United, our purpose is to use the power of basketball to inspire, entertain and enrich people's lives.
In the pursuit of this, we have had the privilege of collaborating with like minded organisations to help make a difference within the community.
A prime example of this is the Victory United Youth Leadership Program, which aims to empower girls aged 8–17 to grow as leaders both on and off the court through a partnership with the Centre of Multicultural Sport and Melbourne Victory.
Focused on inclusivity and confidence-building, the program provides a safe, inspiring space for young girls from multicultural backgrounds to develop their voice, skills, and sense of belonging.
Thanks to generous donations to the United Foundation and the support of our partnership with the Centre of Multicultural Sport, Melbourne United was able to bring this important initiative to life—removing financial barriers and ensuring greater access to leadership and sporting opportunities for all.
Recently, we hosted a vibrant event at Hoop City, where participants experienced a dynamic day split into three powerful elements: a leadership workshop encouraging goal setting and teamwork, a shared lunch fostering connection, and an energising on-court basketball session that reinforced resilience, communication, and joy through sport.
The only way we can continue to run the amazing initiatives like the Victory United Youth Leadership Program is via donations to the United Foundation, regardless of the size.
