United welcome Tones And I as Number 1 Ticket Holder

Melbourne United is excited to announce its Number 1 Ticket Holder for the NBL22 season will be none other than multi-award winning Australian artist, Tones And I.
A former basketball player with the Frankston Blues, Tones And I has become one of the most exciting names in music since busking in Byron Bay and quitting her day job in retail.
Following the enormous success of her breakout hit Dance Monkey, which has accrued the gargantuan total of 7 Billion streams worldwide, plus 1.7 billion views on YouTube, and has gone platinum 16 times, Tones And I’s debut album Welcome to the Madhouse topped the ARIA charts, featuring two more hit singles: Fly Away and Cloudy Day.
Tones And I won four ARIA awards in 2020 and has headlined top venues and festivals, as well as appearing on popular American TV programs including Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, The Voice, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Speaking to the team at United training this week, Tones touched on her excitement about being recognised as the side’s number 1 fan.
“I am so honoured to be your Number 1 Ticket Holder,” she said.
“I’ve played basketball my whole life… so going into music and being able to come back, you guys have really given me a really good reason to smile.”
These sentiments were echoed by Melbourne United CEO Nick Truelson, who believes the superstar’s values and commitment to her craft aligns perfectly with that of the defending champs.
“We couldn't be more excited to announce that Tones will be our Number 1 Ticket Holder at Melbourne United from today.
“As we all know there is a natural fit with music and basketball and the opportunity of bringing them closer together is something we have been keen as a club to explore further.
“Our club values are so well aligned to Tones’, so it has made perfect sense to try and bring her passion for music and basketball together.”
Melbourne United fans should stay tuned for more exciting announcements surrounding its new Number 1 Ticket Holder in the near future.
Tickets are available to cheer on the defending champs at John Cain Arena alongside Tones And I in United’s final two home games before Christmas. 7:30pm this Thursday night against Sydney, and at 1pm on Sunday against New Zealand – tickets are available here.
