With Game 2 of our Championship Series against the Illawarra Hawks just two sleeps away, Head Coach Dean Vickerman is hoping to create as loud an environment as possible.
The ability for the playing group to rise to the occasion in front of our raucous home fans has gone to another level since returning from our stint on the road in January.
We are unbeaten inside John Cain Arena since that road trip, and Vickerman is hoping that trend continues come Game 2.
Speaking following our road win over the Illawarra Hawks on Saturday night, the three-time Championship winning Head Coach called for the United faithful to turn out in droves.
“A full house (on Wednesday night) is a great start,” he said.
“If we can absolutely pack this thing out, get the crowd behind us, (that would be great).”
Across the past four home games, Chris Goulding is averaging 23.3 points per game, while Ian Clark has contributed 20.3 points per game.
Looking at how the Hawks defended him in Game 1, Goulding touched on his need to remain aggressive at the offensive end of the floor.
“I’ve just got to keep playing through it,” he explained.
“Try and help my team wherever possible and remain aggressive. I think remaining aggressive is important.”
