VIPs pack the sidelines to see United put on the best show in town

While Melbourne United have been making headlines with their league-leading play on the court, there has been a similar buzz on the sidelines at John Cain Arena.
It seems as though every United home game is populated by celebrities from across the media and sporting landscape, all looking to witness the defending champs at their best.
From the musical world, United number one season ticket holder Tones And I (who put on an amazing half-time performance earlier in the season), as well as the likes of Dannii Minogue, and Briggs have been spotted courtside, cheering Melbourne on.
When it comes to elite athletes, it’s not just basketball legends attending games, but AFL stars, coming to watch how some of Australia’s best hoopers operate.
Stars from each AFL team in Melbourne have been spotted courtside at United games, with familiar faces like Scott Pendlebury, Marcus Bontempelli, Aaron Francis and Ben Brown frequenting regularly. Footy legends like Chris Judd, Brent Harvey and Eddie Betts have all been supporting Melbourne’s number one basketball team, as have athletes from NRL, Super Rugby, Super Netball, cricket, tennis and more.
Looking at the hardcourt, Melbourne basketball legends Chris Anstey, Mark Bradtke, Ray Gordon and David Andersen, as well as international women’s stars Jenna O’Hea, Ezi Magbegor and Penina Davidson have been taking in the action.
From the culinary world, award-winning chef Ben Shewry and Shane Delia have been loving the pressure cooker that is Melbourne’s home-court advantage, while Channel 10 regulars Waleed Aly, Peter Helliar, Tommy Little and TV personality Brooke Blurton have all enjoyed their sideline experiences.
