‘Win it all’: Travers’ NBL24 goal clear

Written by Melbourne United Media
Star Melbourne United signing Luke Travers has made his intentions clear as he looks ahead to the NBL24 season.
Speaking to former MU Champion Peter Hooley at NBA Summer League, Travers touched on his excitement to play for United, and his want for the team to achieve their ultimate goal come season’s end.
“It’s exciting to go over there and take that opportunity but we’re pretty stacked at the same time so trying to win it all is the main goal,” he said.
“The talks have been a lot more playing through the four, like they (United) always do, you saw Jack White have massive success with that as well.”
Currently playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers in NBA Summer League, Travers has enjoyed great success, averaging nine points, 5.25 rebounds and 1.75 blocks in 23 minutes per game.

This includes another strong performance on Friday morning, where he got the start and played 33 minutes as the Cavs stayed undefeated with a win over the Chicago Bulls.
While he hasn’t always been given the reins to showcase his scoring ability, Travers says he is comfortable doing whatever he can to help his team continue winning.
“I’m just trying to make the most of my opportunities, play team basketball and defend.
“I wanted to come in and show a little more offence but that’s not always the case, you’ve got to adapt and I think my game is to get down in a stance and defend the ball and also protect the rim at the same time.”
